EuCARA will be held at Harwell in the Visitors Centre where we will be the guests of Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL Space). Harwell is close to Oxford and has good public transport links. Site Access:
Harwell is a secure site Photo ID will be required to enter the site. eg Passport / Driving Licence / Bus Pass / National identity card. Please contact us if you do not have any photo ID or have questions.
It is not permitted to wander around the site unaccompanied. Access is only allowed between Reception, Visitor centre, Restaurant, and Hotel (Ridgeway House) – Download Site Map
Travelling to Harwell

The nearest railway station is Didcot Parkway and there is a direct bus service to Oxford running on weekdays and Saturdays. Please check on line for detailed public transport information.
Surrounding area.
There are plenty of tourist attractions in the surrounding area, this is far from a definitive list but may spark your imagination.
Oxford 17 miles. The famed city of dreaming spires, Inspector Morse, Phillip Pulmans Dark Materials has something for everybody. The Experience Oxfordshire (experienceoxfordshire.org) website is a good place to start exploring. Oxford, like all cities, has lots of traffic, if you plan to visit Oxford it suggested that you use the Park and Ride bus ( https://www.oxford.gov.uk/park-ride) or get the train from Didcot Parkway station.
Uffington White Horse 15 miles. High on the scarp slope overlooking the Oxford plain Uffington White horse is the oldest chalk figure in the UK.
Didcot Railway Centre 6 miles. Explore the unique collection of Great Western Railway steam locomotives, carriages, wagons and buildings in a living museum. Not open every day, please check the website to plan a visit. didcotrailwaycentre.org.uk
